PSG win Ligue 1 while Juventus stay on track – European Football Roundup

There was plenty of action across all of Europe’s big leagues this weekend here’s a roundup of all the action that you might have missed.

Ligue 1

Ibra

PSG clinched their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title on Sunday when they defeated Troys 9-0. Zlatan Ibrahimovic stole the show with four goals and an assist in the Parisians crushing victory over bottom of the table Troys. In one sense PSG’s dominance is a poor reflection especially when second placed Monaco are closer to the relegation zone than they are to first place.Nevertheless PSG now have six Ligue 1 titles to their name and I would bet against another next season. Here are all the results from Ligue 1 this weekend:

  • Lorient 1- 1 Marseille
  • GFC Ajaccio 1-0 Caen
  • Guingamp 2-0 Saint-Etienne
  • Montpellier 0-2 Nice
  • SC Bastia 1-2 Lille
  • Toulouse 4-0 Bordeaux
  • Troyes 0-9 PSG
  • Nantes 2-0 Angers
  • Rennes 2-2 Lyon.

Serie A

Dybala

Juventus continued their charge for a fifth straight scudetto this weekend with a Friday night victory over Sassuolo. However the race for title is still extremely tight as Napoli’s narrow win over Palermo keeps them 3 points behind the Old Lady. Roma have continued their fantastic form of late picking up an eight consecutive league win beating Udinese 2-1. Fiorentina and Inter are now level on 54 points and goal difference which sees them placed fourth and fifth respectively. Here are all the results from Serie A this weekend:

  • Juventus 1-0 Sassuolo
  • Empoli 1-1 Sampdoria
  • Inter 2-1 Bologna
  • Chievo Verona 0-0 AC Milan
  • Carpi 2-1 Frosinone
  • Fiorentina 1-1 Hellas Verona
  • Genoa 3-2 Torino
  • Udinese 1-2 Roma
  • Lazio 2-0 Atalanta
  • Palermo 0-1 SSC Napoli

Bundesliga

Thiagp

Bayern Munich continued their push for yet another Bundesliga title this weekend with a 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen. The biggest story coming out of Germany this weekend has to be the tragic news of a Borussia Dortmund fan passing away at the teams game against Mainz. The 81,000 spectators showed the deceased fan the utmost respect by going silent for the remainder of the game before singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone.’ You can watch this moving tribute here.  Here are the full list of results from the German top flight:

  • Hertha Berlin 2-0 Schalke 04
  • Borussia Moenchengladbach 3-0 Eintracht Frankfurt
  • Darmstadt 2-2 Augsberg
  • Hannover 96 0-2 FC Cologne
  • Hoffenheim 1-0 Wolfsburg
  • Ingolstadt 3-3 Stuttgart
  • Bayern Munich 5-0 Werder Bremen
  • Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 Hamsburger SV
  • Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Maniz 05

La Liga

Messi

League leaders FC Barcelona stretched their unbeaten streak to 37 games with a 6-0 victory over Getafe on Saturday afternoon. Second placed Atletico Madrid remain eight points behind after they defeated Deportivo while Real Madrid fought a tough Las Palmas to win 2-1.Gary Neville’s Valencia lost a derby against bottom of the table Levante on Sunday in what Neville descriped ad an “unacceptable performance”. Here are all the results from La Liga this weekend:

  • I do accept as true with all the ideas you’ve offered to your post. They are very convincing and can certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are too quick for starters. May you please extend them a little from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.
