EURO 2016 Day 4 Preview

EURO 2016 is in full swing now with the first matches of Groups A,B and C complete. Today Group D and Group E will begin to take shape. Here’s your preview of today’s fixtures.

Spain Czech

Spain begin their quest to retain their crown as European champions today as they take on the Czech Republic in Toulouse this afternoon. Spain are marginal favourites heading into this one but the Czech side has plenty of talent in its midst such as goalkeeper Petr Cech and midfielder Tomáš Rosicky. Spain boast household names such as Andres Iniesta, Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas and Cesc Fabergas. Spain have come out on top in the sides last three meetings and are currently on an eight-game competitive winning streak. Expect plenty of footballing talent to be on display from both sides.

Ireland Sweden

The Republic of Ireland kick-off their campaign against a Zlatan Ibrahimovic led Sweden this evening in Saint-Denis. Martin O’Neill has plenty of headaches when It comes to selecting a starting eleven but forward Jonathan Walters is expected to start having overcome a recent injury. Shane Long will look to continue his fine form in front of goal for his nation while his teammates in defence will be worked hard by Zlatan. Both sides progress in the competition could rest on today’s result so expect plenty of passion to be on display from both sides.

BELGIUM ITALY

Hotly tipped Belgium face Italy in Lyon this evening in what is expected to be an enthralling encounter.  This Italian side has plenty of doubters both at home and abroad while the Belgians have won praise across Europe thanks to their golden generation of stars such as Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne. Italy will look to play counter attacking football depending on a strong defence that protects legendary keeper Gianluigi Buffon. Graziano Pellè is the Italians leading forward and will need to be at his best tonight. This will be a gripping game you won’t want to miss!
