Real line up all Madrid final – Champions League

Real Madrid 1-0 Manchester City

Real Madrid and Manchester City played out quite a boring match tonight in comparison to last night’s thriller . A single goal was enough for Real to book their spot in the final come the end of the month.

Madrid were the better team tonight comfortable in possession and resilient in defence. Mancheter City lacked intensity tonight and stood off Real for most of the game. The Citizens were dealt a major blow when captain Vincent Kompany was forced off injured once again with just ten minutes played.

Real soon broke the deadlock. With 20 minutes played Daniel Carvajal slipped the ball into the path of Gareth Bale. The Welshman’s shot come cross was deflected into Joe Harts top corner by Fernando.

Fernando almost redeemed himself later on when his shot skimmed past the post but he couldn’t draw the sides level. One nil up at the half Real were comfortable.

The second half was a mostly dull affair. City as in the first half stood off Real leaving the Spaniards plenty of space to hold possession. Real created half chances but Joe Hart was alert to the shots of Cristiano Ronaldo and Luca Modric. The introductions of Raheem Sterling and Kelechi Iheanacho failed to produce the single goal City required. Sergio Aguero’s long range shot with 2 minutes to go skimmed over the top of Keylor Navas’ goal which was the last noteable chance.
