Leicester have been referred to an independent commission for breaching profit and sustainability rules (PSR) and failing to submit audited finances. If found guilty the Championship high-flyers could face a points deduction.

Birmingham sack manager Wayne Rooney after 15 games

Birmingham City have sacked manager Wayne Rooney after just 83 days in charge of the Championship club. The 38-year-old was appointed on 11 October following the controversial decision to dismiss John Eustace, with Blues sixth in the table. Since then they have slipped to 20th, Monday’s 3-0 loss at Leeds having been the ninth defeat of his 15-game tenure.

Luton Town completed their journey from non-league to Premier League as they beat Coventry City 6-5 on penalties to win the Championship play-off final at Wembley. Gustavo Hamer equalised for Coventry to cancel out a first-half strike from Jordan Clark as the game finished in a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.

Derby County relegated to League 1 following loss to QPR

Derby have been relegated to Sky Bet League One after suffering a 1-0 defeat at QPR and will play in England’s third tier for the first time since 1986.
