Verstappen secures pole position for Australian Grand Prix

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen fought off a challenge from Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz to take pole position for the Australian Grand Prix. Sainz was quickest in the first two parts of qualifying but the world champion bounced back in the top 10 shootout to take pole by 0.27 seconds. McLaren’s Lando Norris will start third ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc after a grid penalty for Red Bull’s Sergio Perez for impeding.

Verstappen eases to victory at the Qatar Grand Prix

Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell collided at the start before Max Verstappen went on to dominate the Qatar Grand Prix. The crash caused Hamilton’s retirement and dropped Russell to the back of the field, from where he fought back in impressive fashion to finish fourth. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris took second and third after holding position in the final stages.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen clinched a third world title by finishing second in a chaotic and incident-packed sprint race in Qatar. Three safety cars triggered by a series of accidents and collisions created a dramatic spectacle under the lights at the Lusail circuit won by McLaren’s rookie Oscar Piastri whose teammate Lando Norris passed Mercedes’ George Russell late on to take third.

Piastri beats Norris to pole ahead of Qatar Sprint

Max Verstappen could qualify only third for the sprint race in which he could clinch a third world title as McLaren’s Oscar Piastri took pole. The Australian rookie, demoted from fourth place in Qatar Grand Prix qualifying on Friday, beat team-mate Lando Norris by 0.082 seconds. Verstappen was 0.192secs off the pace, and ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz.
