Russians and Belarusians will not take part in the parade of athletes at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics in July, the International Olympic Committee said on Tuesday. The athletes from these countries who qualify for the Games will be competing as independent athletes without their flags and anthems following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Tokyo Olympic Games postponed to 2021

The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games has been postponed by one year until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Olympics was due to be held from July 24 to August 9, while the Paralympics was set to run from August 25 to September 6, but both have now been rescheduled.
