Russell returns to Williams as Hamilton passed fit for Abu Dhabi GP

George Russell will return to Williams for the season finale Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after Lewis Hamilton was passed fit to return to Mercedes after contracting Covid-19. Russell replaced Hamilton at last week’s Sakhir Grand Prix and could have won the race had it not been for a puncture.

Russell to stand in for Hamilton as Aitken debuts for Williams

George Russell will temporarily join Mercedes to replace Lewis Hamilton who has contracted the coronavirus. Russell’s seat at Williams will be filled by their reserver driver Jack Aitken who has been competing in Formula 2 this season.
