Collin Morikawa holds off Spieth to win The Open

Collin Morikawa became the first player to win The Open Championship on his debut as he held off Jordan Speith to win by two strokes at Royal St. George’s. Morikawa also became the first player in history to win two different majors at the first attempt following his PGA Championship win last year.

Oosthuizen one clear of Morikawa ahead of final round at The Open

Louis Oosthuizen remained on course for a wire-to-wire victory at The 149th Open as a 69 on day three was enough to stay in the outright lead ahead of Collin Morikawa, with Jordan Spieth three back after a bogey, bogey finish. Scoring around St. George’s was harder today as the R&A adopted some tricky pin positions.
