Max Verstappen cruised to a comfortable victory in the Japanese Grand Prix, leading team-mate Sergio Perez to a Red Bull one-two. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz finished third ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc, McLaren’s Lando Norris started from third but was unable to match the pace of the Ferrari’s hanging on to finish fifth ahead of Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso.

Max Verstappen led a Red Bull one-two in qualifying at the Japanese Grand Prix with McLaren’s Lando Norris best of the rest. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz was fourth, his team-mate Charles Leclerc eighth, and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso fifth. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri was sixth ahead of Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton, whose team-mate George Russell was ninth. Home favourite Yuki Tsunoda will start from P10.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen put in a stunning performance to set pole position for the Japanese Grand Prix. The Dutchman was a massive 0.581 seconds clear of the impressive Oscar Piastri in second, 0.035secs ahead of McLaren team-mate Lando Norris. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was fourth, ahead of Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, who was 0.773secs slower than Verstappen.

Mercedes Valtteri Bottas jumped the Ferrari duo of Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc to win the Japanese Grand Prix. The result secures Mercedes’ sixth straight Constructors title. Vettel and Bottas’ teammate Lewis Hamilton completed the podium.
