Champions League Group stage draw

The Groups for this seasons Champions League were drawn this evening in Monaco and have lined up some fascinating encounters.

Pep Guardiola will take Manchester City back to his old club FC Barcelona as the Premier League side were drawn in Group C along with German side Borussia Monchengladbach and Scottish champions Celtic.

Leicester City avoided all the big names of European football as they were drawn in Group G alongside Portuguese side FC Porto, Belgians Club Brugge and Danish side FC Copenhagen.

Group A will see French champions PSG and Arsenal face off with Swiss club Basel and Bulgaria’s Ludogorets completing the group.

Group B sees Portuguese champions Benfica take on Italian side Napoli. Both clubs will face tricky away games against Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv and  Turkey’s Besiktas.

Bayern Munich led by Carlo Ancelotti face last year’s runners up Atletico Madrid in Group D. Dutch champions PSV and Russian side Rostov complete the group.

Tottenham will have to overcome the challenges of Bayer Leverkusen, CSKA Moskow and AS Monaco in Group E if they are to progress further into the competition.

Real Madrid begin their title defence in Group F and face stiff competition in the form of Borussia Dortmund,Sporting Lisbon and Polish side Legia Warsaw.

The Group of death is arguably Group H it sees Italian Champions Juventus face reigning Europa League champions Sevilla,Olympic Lyon and Dinamo Zagreb.
