Europa League Round of 32 draw

This morning the UEFA Europa League Round of 32 draw took place in Nyon, Switzerland to determine the fixtures for the next round.

The draw is as follows:

  • Nice v Lokomotov Moscow
  • Copenhagen v Atlético Madrid
  • Spartak Moscow v Athletic Bilbao
  • AEK Athens v Dynamo Kyiv
  • Celtic v Zenit St Petersburg
  • Napoli v RB Leipzig
  • Red Star Belgrade v CSKA Moscow
  • Lyon v Villarreal
  • Real Sociedad v Salzburg
  • Partizan Belgrade v Viktoria Plzen
  • Steaua Bucharest v Lazio
  • Ludogorets v Milan
  • Astana v Sporting
  • Ostersund v Arsenal
  • Marseille v Braga

Celtic face a very tricky opponent in Russian side Zenit St Petersburg. Brendan Rodgers’ men will have to deal with sub zero temperatures and freezing pitches in this clash not to mention a strong Zenit side managed by former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.

Arsenal will head to Sweden to face Ostersund. Arsene Wenger’s side will be expected to progress into the Last 16 with relative ease.

A few games for neutrals to look out for include German side Borussia Dortmund against Italy’s Atalanta.  Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid will face Denmark’s Copenhagen as they lick they wounds following an early exit from the Champions League.

Napoli against RB Leipzig will provide an entertaining game. The Italian side managed by Maurizio Sarri are playing some of the nicest football in Europe while the Bundesliga side feature several rising stars.

The games will be played on Thursday the 15th and 22nd of February.
