Mayo earn crucial win over Roscommon – Allianz National League Roundup
Division 1
Kerry have sealed their place in the National League semi-finals after their 1-17 to 1-9 win over Monaghan in Clones today. A second half resurgence from the Kingdom now puts Monaghan in danger of relegation.Mayo picked up a vital win over Roscommon in testing conditions. Mayo’s 1-11 was enough to beat the home side’s score of 1-7. Mayo however are still in a relegation scrap. Cork’s win over Down has relegated the Northern side with the Rebels winning 12 point to 7.Last night Dublin beat Donegal 1-10 to 7 points in a physical game that has been overshadowed by an apparent eye-gouge on Donegal’s Martin McElhinney by Dublin’s James McCarthy.
Division 2
Fermanagh salvaged a draw against Galway today with the sides finishing 15 points a piece. Declan McCusker was the hero for Fermanagh as his injury-time point leveled the sides. Cavan defeated Laois 1-17 to 15 points in Breffni Park. Derry and Meath also tied 2-12 to 2-12 at Celtic Park and Tyrone were held to a draw by Armagh with the sides finishing 13 points a piece.
Division 3
Kildare have secured their place in Division 2 following their 2-13 to 1-5 victory over Tipperary yesterday. Clare rallied in the second half to defeat Longford 1-20 to 1-9 in Cusack Park Ennis. Limerick will play in Division 4 next year after Sligo beat the Shannonsiders 3-10 to 1-12. Elsewhere Westmeath pipped Offaly 1-9 to 9 points in Mullingar.
Division 4
Louth secured promotion to Division 3 today as they fought a tough Wexford side. A 13 points to 11 points victory over the yellow bellies sealed promotion. Antrim maintain their unbeaten run as they defeated Wicklow 2-12 to 1-12 in Aughrim.Carlow claimed their third win of the campaign yesterday as they beat Leitrim 12 points to 1-4. At the bottom of the table London claimed their first win of 2016 narrowly beating Waterford 13 points to 12 in Dungarvan.
