Cofidis ended their 15-year drought at the Tour de France as Victor Lafay lit up the final kilometre to win Stage 2 in San Sebastian. Adam Yates won the battle of the British twins on the opening stage of the 2023 Tour de France to claim the first yellow jersey of the race and the first Tour stage of his career. The UAE Team Emirates rider prized himself away from his brother inside the final few hundred metres of an exceptionally hilly stage in the Basque Country after the pair had broken clear together over the day’s final climb with 9km to race.
