Simon Yates triumphs on Bastille Day as Ben Healy takes Yellow Jersey – Tour de France

Ireland’s Ben Healy prised the yellow jersey from Tadej Pogacar’s shoulders as Britain’s Simon Yates won a tough stage through the Massif Central on Bastille Day. Pogacar responded to several attacks from rivals Jonas Vingegaard and Matteo Jorgenson, but at the end of the day Visma-Lease a Bike had to make do with the stage spoils as opposed to any GC gains on the eve of the first rest day.

Jordi Meeus triumphs on Champs-Elysees as Vingegaard retains title – Tour de France

Jordi Meeus caused a monumental upset on Stage 21 of the Tour de France as he outsprinted Jasper Philipsen, Dylan Groenewegen and Mads Pedersen to win on the Champs-Elysees. The Belgian had not finished higher than sixth in the opening 20 stages, making Bora’s decision to pick him over Sam Bennett look questionable, but he came good at the last with a stunning sprint.

Pogačar triumphs on stage 20 as Vingegaard awaits coronation – Tour de France

Jonas Vingegaard all but secured a second Tour de France triumph as rival Tadej Pogacar ended his race on a high with victory in Stage 20 in the Vosges. Pogacar outkicked Felix Gall, Vingegaard and the Yates brothers in a five-up sprint after local legend Thibaut Pinot came close to the perfect Tour swansong. Italy’s Giulio Ciccone secured the polka dot jersey.

Matej Mohoric pips Asgreen in stage 19 photo finish – Tour de France

Kasper Asgreen was denied a second straight win at the Tour de France as Matej Mohoric edged a photo finish after a thrilling sprint. Asgreen again found himself in the break and looked good to add to his victory on Thursday, but Mohoric swung past him with a last-gasp effort to take the spoils. Back in the bunch, Jonas Vingegaard cruised across the line to keep hold of the yellow jersey.
