There was a classy truce at the Tour de France on Stage 11 as Tadej Pogacar’s rivals refused to take advantage of the Slovenian crashing late on. With Pogacar scrambling up off the tarmac after a dramatic spill, he looked certain to lose time in the yellow jersey battle until his rivals displayed remarkable sportsmanship. Simon Yates triumphs on Bastille Day as Ben Healy takes Yellow Jersey – Tour de France

Ireland’s Ben Healy prised the yellow jersey from Tadej Pogacar’s shoulders as Britain’s Simon Yates won a tough stage through the Massif Central on Bastille Day. Pogacar responded to several attacks from rivals Jonas Vingegaard and Matteo Jorgenson, but at the end of the day Visma-Lease a Bike had to make do with the stage spoils as opposed to any GC gains on the eve of the first rest day.

Merlier reels in Van der Poel to win stage 9 – Tour de France

Mathieu van der Poel made the running for all but the last 700 metres of Stage 9, but still ended empty-handed after his stirring two-man breakaway with Alpecin Deceuninck team-mate Jonas Rickaert was swallowed up in heartbreaking fashion by a charging peloton. Tim Merlier emerged from the bunch to take his second win of the race.

Jonathan Milan wins hectic sprint on stage 8 – Tour de France

Jonathan Milan landed a first win at the Tour de France with a comfortable bunch sprint victory on Stage 8. The Italian, who returns to the top of the points classification, arrived at his debut Tour with four wins at the Giro d’Italia on his palmares. He was wearing the green jersey on loan from Tadej Pogacar, who topped the standings heading into Saturday’s flat stage but was already in yellow.

Pogačar takes back yellow jersey with Stage 7 triumph – Tour de France

World champion Tadej Pogacar soared back into yellow after a barnstorming win over Jonas Vingegaard at Mur-de-Bretagne. But Stage 7 of the Tour de France was not all good news for the reigning champion after a nasty high-speed crash saw his UAE Emirates-XRG team-mate Joao Almeida cross the line over 10 minutes back. Elsewhere, Britain’s Geraint Thomas enjoyed a sweltering day in the break.
