Geoffrey Soupe of TotalEnergies shocked the Vuelta a España field to win stage seven along the Mediterranean in Oliva. The Frenchman, who has been a professional since 2011 but has never before won a race in Europe, started his sprint 300m from the line and held on for victory despite a late charge from Venezuelan champion Orluis Aular of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA.

Kaden Groves (Alpecin Deceuninck) took his second victory in as many days at the Vuelta a España, pipping Ineos Grenadiers powerhouse Filippo Ganna to the line on stage five. The Australian, who won Tuesday’s fourth stage, went on to triumph by half a wheel’s length in Burriana, beating a late charge from the World Hour Record holder with a well-executed bike throw.

Kaden Groves of Alpecin-Deceuninck won stage four of the Vuelta after a high-speed uphill dash to the line in Tarragona. Remco Evenepoel beats Jonas Vingegaard to win stage 3 – Vuelta a Espana

Defending champion Remco Evenepoel won stage three of the Vuelta a España in Andorra and in doing so took the race lead. The Soudal Quick-Step rider attacked in the final 300m of the finishing climb to Arinsal, and though Tour de France champion Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) was quick to respond to his attack, the Belgian held off the challenge of the Dane to take the victory by one second and collect six bonus seconds
