Mads Pedersen powers to stage six win – Giro d’Italia

Mads Pedersen timed his sprint to perfection to take victory on stage six of the Giro d’Italia in Napoli on Thursday, as the last two riders from the day’s break were caught with 200m to go. The Trek-Segafredo rider has now won stages at all three Grand Tours, with his Giro win added to the stage he won at the Tour de France last July, and the three stages he won at the Vuelta a España in 2023.

Kaden Groves wins crash-marred stage 5 – Giro d’Italia

A day of rain-soaked carnage on the Giro d’Italia saw Remco Evenepoel hit the deck twice and Britain’s Mark Cavendish acrobatically skid over the line on his torso in the wake of Stage 5 winner Kaden Groves. The Australian beat Jonathan Milan and Mads Pedersen in a messy sprint as Norway’s Andreas Leknessund battled to retain the pink jersey.

Aurelien Paret-Peintre wins stage 4 as Andreas Leknessund moves into Pink -Giro d’Italia

Andreas Leknessund became the first Norwegian in 42 years to don the famous pink jersey after starring from the breakaway in a dramatic Stage 4 of the Giro d’Italia. Taking over Remco Evenepoel’s maglia rosa was a welcome consolation prize for Leknessund after he was denied the win by Frenchman Aurelien Paret-Peintre.

Michael Matthews wins sprint finish on stage 3 – Giro d’Italia

Michael Matthews won Stage 3 of the Giro d’Italia – a 213km mostly flat ride from Vasto to Melfi that ended in an uphill sprint. The peloton was strung out over the Cat. 3 and Cat. 4 climbs of Valico dei Laghi di Monticchio and Valico La Croce. And it was left to Matthews and Mads Pedersen to battle it out on the punchy finish. Remco Evenepoel extended his lead in the GC.
