Wout van Aert soloed to Stage 11 glory in Malaucène after the first double ascent of Mont Ventoux in Tour de France history. An attack from the Belgian champion’s Jumbo-Visma teammate Jonas Vingegaard saw the Danish youngster move up to third in the standings but yellow jersey Tadej Pogacar is now over five minutes clear of his nearest challenger, the Colombian Rigoberto Uran.

Cavendish completes hat-trick with stage 10 win – Tour de France

Another textbook lead-out from Deceuninck-QuickStep saw Mark Cavendish win a third stage of the 2021 Tour de France to bring up his 33rd victory on the world’s biggest bike race. The Manxman beat Belgians Wout van Aert and Jasper Philipsen in Stage 10 to move within one victory of Eddy Merckx’s all-time Tour record.

Mark Cavendish sprints to stage 4 glory – Tour de France

Emotions ran high on the Tour de France as Mark Cavendish rolled back the years by sprinting to Stage 4 glory at Fougeres to take over the green jersey from teammate Julian Alaphilippe. It was the Manxman’s first win on the Tour for five years and saw him take his tally to 31 – just three shy of Eddy Merckx’s all-time record.
