Max Verstappen wins in Monaco! What had looked like yet another pedestrian race around the principality sparked to life when rain fell with over 20 laps to go. There were plenty of close calls but ultimately the top three remained unchanged with Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso coming home second while Alpine's Esteban Ocon picks up a third place finish providing a much needed boost for the French team. Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finished P4 and P5 as Ferrari endured another frustrating day with home favourite Charles Leclerc P6. The teams now hotfoot it from Monaco to Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix next weekend. Max Verstappen produced a superb drive to rise from ninth to win the Miami Grand Prix. The Red Bull man made his way through the pack in the early stages before masterfully maintaining his tyres allowing a late pit stop for mediums. His teammate and pole-sitter Sergio Perez regained the lead temporarily but he stood no chance against Verstappen due to the tyre differential. Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso came home third while Ferrari's Carlos Sainz dropped from P3 to finish P5 behind the Mercedes of George Russell. The F1 circus now heads to Imola for the Emilia-Romagna GP from May 19-21st. Sergio Perez wins the Azerbaijan Grand Prix! Ferrari's Chales Leclerc lead from pole but it wasn't long before the Red Bull duo of Max Verstappen and Perez passed him. Verstappen was caught out when he pitted only for a safety car to follow the next lap allowing Perez to leapfrog him. The Mexican had a rather uneventful race after that while Leclerc held off Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso to pick up Ferrari's first podium of the season. The teams and drivers now head across the Atlantic for the Miami Grand Prix next weekend. Sergio Perez wins the Sprint race at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix making the most of DRS to get past polesitter Charles Leclerc. The Ferrari man had kept his lead off the line but after the safety car was deployed to remove debris from the track following a brush with the wall for AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda the Monegasque was powerless to hold off Perez. His teammate Max Verstappen finished third despite heavy sidepod damage after opening lap contact with Mercedes’ George Russell. They do it all again tomorrow and Red Bull will hope for a repeat with Leclerc starting first ahead of Verstappen and Perez. 🤯 Max Verstappen takes his first-ever Australian GP win amid huge drama in Melbourne. He's followed by Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso! With 3 red flags and 8 DNFs that race was one to remember. Full report on the website soon! We now have a 4 week wait before the action resumes in Baku for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix from April 28-30th. 🏁Sergio Perez wins the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix! The polesitter was briefly behind the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso after the start but the awesome power of his car saw him regain the lead from where he would ease to victory. The Mexican’s teammate Max Verstappen rose from 15th to finish second despite some concerns about his driveshaft late on. Alonso thought he had overcome a 5 second time penalty to finish on the podium for the 100th time in his career however the stewards found the rear jack had come into contact with his car before the 5 second penalty had been served at his pitstop. As a result the Spaniard was handed a 10 second penalty promoting Mercedes’ George Russell to third. Alonso takes P4 while Lewis Hamilton finished P5 ahead of the Ferrari duo of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc who lost out during a safety car and had a rather disappointing second half of the race. The teams and drivers now head down under for the Australian Grand Prix in two weeks from March 31st to April 2nd at Albert Park. GRAND SLAM CHAMPIONS! Ireland have completed a Grand Slam for the fourth time thanks to a 29-16 win over England at the Aviva Stadium. England started stronger but Ireland hit back with a Dan Sheehan try seeing them hit the front. The sending off of Freddie Steward just before the break was a hammer blow for the English but they did get back to 10-9. A Robbie Henshaw try relieved the pressure with Sheehan going over again before Rob Herring delivered the bonus point cherry on top as another group of Irish players wrote their names into the history books. Super Saturday got off to an entertaining start as Italy once again went toe to toe with a much fancied opponent. Blair Kinghorn proved the difference as he scored a hat-trick to give Scotland a 26-14 win. France knew they needed to win and hope for an upset in Dublin if they were to retain their crown and they did what was required of them seeing off Wales 41-28 at the Stade de France. The Grand Slam is on! Ireland showed great resolve to survive a Scottish onslaught in the first half before turning on the style in the second to record a 22-7 victory at Murrayfield. This week’s action kicked off in Rome yesterday as Italy looked to add to Wales’ woes this season however the Azzurri failed to live up to the rare favourites tag awarded to them pre-game leaving several tries after them allowing the Welsh to pick up a much needed 29-17 victory. England’s Six Nations revival came to a shuddering halt at Twickenham as France inflicted a record defeat on the Brits. Thomas Ramos went over early while Thibaud Flament, Charles Ollivon and Damian Penaud all scored braces in a 53-10 victory. And so it all comes down to Super Saturday the action begins at 12:30 as Scotland welcome Italy, France face Wales at 14:45 with Ireland hosting England at 17:00. You won’t want to miss it as Ireland go in search of a 4th Grand Slam. 🏁 Max Verstappen wins the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Dutchman picked up where he left off last season leading home a rather comfortable 1-2 for Red Bull. Sergio Perez was tested by the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc but heartbreakingly for the Monegasque he lost power forcing him out of the race. His teammate Carlos Sainz immediately came under pressure for the final podium place by Fernando Alonso in the now very competitive Aston Martin. The 41 year old Spaniard passed his countryman to take his 99th podium finish while Sainz held off the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton to finish P4. An intriguing season opener with plenty to digest from the top to the bottom of the grid. The teams and drivers have a week off before the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix from March 17th to 19th in Jeddah.
