It was another day for the breakaway on Stage 12 at the Giro d’Italia as Nico Denz claimed a maiden Grand Tour victory. Remco Evenepoel was forced to withdraw from the Giro d’Italia after testing positive for Covid-19 hours after reclaiming the pink jersey on Sunday. Ineos Grenadiers’ Geraint Thomas has now assumed the race lead as a result of Evenepoel’s withdrawal.
