Jannik Sinner demonstrated once again why he is the world’s best player after holding off Alexander Zverev to win back-to-back Wimbledon men’s singles titles. Italy’s Sinner gradually took control of an extremely tight contest to win 6-7 (7-9) 7-6 (7-2) 6-3 6-4 at the All England Club. German second seed Zverev played confidently and boldly as he looked to back up his maiden Grand Slam victory at the French Open last month.

Czech youngster Linda Noskova recovered from missing five championship points to beat her friend Karolina Muchova and win an extraordinary and dramatic Wimbledon final. Noskova looked on course for a routine victory when she led 6-2 5-2 – but crumbled with the finishing line in sight as 10th seed Muchova won five games in a row to force a decider. However, the 21-year-old showed remarkable resilience to reset and finally clinch a 6-2 5-7 6-3 victory.

Six-time major champion Carlos Alcaraz has split with his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero in a shock move. Alcaraz, 22, has worked with his fellow Spaniard since he was a teenager, but announced on Wednesday that the pair have “decided to part ways” before the 2026 season. Neither the world number one nor Ferrero has given a reason for the split but it is understood Ferrero did not want to leave his role.
