Andy Farrell signs new IRFU contract through to 2027

Andy Farrell has signed a new contract with the IRFU that will see him remain in charge of Ireland until the end of the 2027 World Cup. The 48-year-old took over from Joe Schmidt as head coach following the 2019 World Cup. Farrell led Ireland to the 2023 Six Nations Grand Slam and oversaw a 17-game winning run up to the World Cup quarter-final against New Zealand in October.

Graham Rowntree signs contract extension with Munster

Graham Rowntree has signed a two-year contract extension that will see his stint as Munster head-coach extended until at least 2026. Rowntree guided the province to the URC title back in May in the Englishman’s first season as head coach with an excellent win over Stormers in South Africa.

Andy Farrell names World Cup training squad

Andy Farrell has named a 42-man squad for Ireland’s pre-Rugby World Cup training camp. There are four uncapped players on the panel in Ciarán Frawley, Jamie Osborne, Tom Stewart and Calvin Nash, all of whom have previously been part of the squad.

Joey Carbery omitted from Ireland’s Six Nations squad

Munster’s Joey Carbery has been left out of Andy Farrell’s 6 Nations squad in favour of Ross Byrne and Jack Crowley. Carbery has been blighted by injury through-out his career while his teammate Crowley is seen as a successor to Sexton in the 10 jersey.
