West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has died at the age of 86 following a short illness. A lifelong Hammers fan, the club said he passed away “peacefully” on Wednesday morning with his fiancee and daughters by his side. Gold, previously the chairman and co-owner of Birmingham City, became joint-chairman at West Ham with David Sullivan in 2010.

Liverpool complete signing of Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven

Liverpool have secured the signing of Netherlands forward Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven. The Reds will pay between £35m and £45m for the 23-year-old, who scored three goals in five appearances at the World Cup in Qatar. Gakpo is understood to have agreed a deal until 2028.
