Nottingham Forest have sacked their global head of football, Edu Gaspar, after just over a year at the club. The former Arsenal midfielder was brought in ahead of last season with a broad remit covering recruitment, squad strategy, player development and performance. However, his time at the City Ground proved brief and troubled. It is understood that Edu has been absent from the club since the early months of this year.

Arsenal sign Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle in £75m deal

Arsenal have completed the signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United on a four-year deal. The 28-year-old midfielder joins the Gunners for a fee understood to be £75m (€88m) and the contract includes a further one-year option. Guimaraes arrived at Newcastle in January 2022 and leaves the club after making 195 appearances, scoring 31 goals along the way.

James Trafford joins Leeds from Man City in deal worth up to £45m

Leeds United have signed goalkeeper James Trafford from Manchester City in a club-record deal. The deal is worth an initial £40m plus add-ons, surpassing the £35.5m paid for Georginio Rutter Hoffenheim in January 2023.
