Salah salvages draw for Liverpool at Arsenal

Mohamed Salah scored a late equaliser as Liverpool came from behind twice to earn a point at title rivals Arsenal. Bukayo Saka had given the home side an early lead before Virgil Van Dijk headed Livepool level. Arsenal beat Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League thanks to an own goal by goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk as they bounced back from defeat by Bournemouth at the weekend. Gabriel Martinelli’s effort in the 29th minute bounced off the post and hit the Shakhtar keeper in the back before trickling over the line as the home side’s dominance paid off.

Arsenal go top with win over lowly Luton

Arsenal overcame the absence of Bukayo Saka to move back to the top of the Premier League table with victory over struggling Luton at Emirates Stadium. Leading scorer Saka was missing after suffering a knock against Manchester City at the weekend, but Mikel Arteta’s much-changed side did enough to rout their hard-working opponents and move back above Liverpool at the summit.
