Stefano Oldani surged to a first pro win from a leading trio in Genoa after Alpecin-Fenix exploited their numerical advantage to devastating effect in Stage 12 of the Giro. Teammates Mathieu van der Poel and Oscar Riesebeek proved the perfect decoys for Oldani, who held off Lorenzo Rota and Gijs Leemreize.
