FC Barcelona manager Xavi has announced he will step down from his position at the end of the current season. The news comes in the wake of a 5-3 loss at home to Villarreal that leaves the Catalans 10 points off top spot in La Liga after a mid-week exit from the Copa del Rey. The former player took charge of the club in November 2021 and guided them to the league title last season.
