FC Barcelona vs Arsenal


FC Barcelona’s quality was too strong for an Arsenal side that tried their best to produce an incredible comeback. Neymar opened the scoring for the hosts but in the second half Mohammed Elneny scored a cracking goal to level the sides. However a superb volley from Luis Suárez restored the lead for Barca before Lionel Messi sealed the deal with a signatature chip over Ospina. Barcelona progress 5-1 on aggregate while Arsenal now focus solely on the Premier League.

Bayern Munich vs Juventus


Juventus and Bayern Munich played out what will go down as one of the greatest Champions League games of all time. Juventus took the lead early on through Paul Pogba and doubled their lead before halftime through Juan Cuadrado. Juventus lead 4-2 on aggregate at the half.Bayern Munich used their home advantage in the second half. Robert Lewandowski gave the hosts a lifeline before Thomas Mueller scored a late equaliser to take the game to extra time. Bayern couldn’t find a winner in the first 15 minutes but that would soon change. Substitute Thiago Alcantara finished off a well worked move to give Bayern the lead. In scenes similar to Ateltico Madrid in the 2014 final Juvenus simply didn’t have the legs in the second half of extra time. Kingsley Coman’s strike broke Italian hearts as he sealed Bayerns place in the quarter finals 6-4 on aggregate.
