Slovakia took the lead through a Wojciech Szczesny own goal but Poland drew level through Karol Linetty before the complexion of the game was changed totally by the dismissal of Grzegorz Krychowiak.

Austria left it late to defeat a spirited North Macedonia in Group C at Euro 2020. Michael Gregoritsch and Marko Arnautovic stuck in the final twelve minutes in Bucharest to deny competition debutants North Macedonia a point. The win was Austria’s first victory at the European Championships.
