Roma coach Jose Mourinho has been banned for four matches by Uefa for confronting English referee Anthony Taylor after the Europa League final. The charge relates to an incident in a car park after the game, when Mourinho, 60, directed a foul-mouthed rant at Taylor.

Jose Mourinho has been charged with insulting and abusing a match official, the governing body UEFA has said, after the football manager was filmed shouting at officials following AS Roma’s loss to Sevilla in the Europa League final.Mourinho was critical of the refereeing after the game, saying: “It was an intense, masculine, vibrant game with a referee who seemed Spanish. Sevilla claimed a record-extending seventh Europa League title as they beat Roma on penalties at a raucous Puskas Arena in Budapest. Gonzalo Montiel, who also scored the winning penalty for Argentina in the World Cup final against France, repeated the trick for the Spanish side following a 1-1 draw, with a retaken spot kick after Roger Ibanez and Gianluca Mancini had missed for Roma.

Tomáš Holeš and Patrik Schick struck for the Czech Republic as they knocked the Netherlands out of Euro 2020. Netherlands were favourites ahead of the game but the dismissal of Matthijs de Ligt turned the game in the Czechs favour and they will now play Denmark in the quarter-finals.
