Sick kits of the week 7
After a prolonged absence sick kits of the week is back! Some absolutely beautiful kits have been released recently as we build up for another season of football action.
Venezia FC Home
Venezia FC are a club on the rise. They gained promotion from the Serie C last season and will ply their trade in the Italian second division or Serie B this coming season. They are the only major team hailing from Venice and their home jersey is as stylish as the city itself.
The sleek black jersey bares no sponsor simply the name of the club and the club crest. The bottom of the jersey features an orange and green lion – the symbol of the city stylised in the city colours.
The back of the neck features the Italian words for ‘orange, white and green.’ This jersey looks gorgeous and stays true to its city roots.
AC Milan Third Kit
As AC Milan continue their summer spending spree they today released their third kit for the upcoming season. The jersey was designed by fans using the adidas Football Creator Studio platform.
The Creator Studio platform allowed fans the opportunity to design the third kit for AC Milan – the ultimate expression of fan creativity. All submitted kits were voted on by fans in a ‘battlemode’ that saw the most popular kits shortlisted to a top 100. The final winner was then chosen by an expert panel of some of the club most iconic players.
AC Milan’s kit brings a totally unique twist to a classic design. The kit features the iconic red and black colours of the club, reinterpreted in a new graphic design. A bright red pattern across the chest against an all-black shirt is unlike anything the club has ever had before.
The design is different but not too bold. Milan is the fashion capital of the world and the Rossoneri will certainly look the part next season.
Club América Away Kit
Inspired by the 1990s, Mexico’s Club America’s 17-18 away kit introduces an outstanding design.Inspired by Club América’s (Adidas) kits of the 1990s, the new Nike Club America away kit is white with an eye-catching yellow, red and blue graphic print on the sleeves.
Personally I feel the vibrant colours on the shoulders convey the energy and passion seen in Mexican football. The only negative about this kit is the number of sponsors featured on it but all in all it looks absolutely gorgeous.
Newcastle United Third kit
As Newcastle celebrate their return to England’s top flight they do so in style. As the club celebrates its 125th anniversary which can be seen with the addition to the crest Puma have come out with an absolute gem. The two-tone black stripe effect looks stunning.
The gold Puma logo seen on the chest and shoulders looks well the only drawback is the large sponsor logo although I take some consolation in the fact it too is gold.
Overall the Toon will be looking well this season as they look to cement their place in the Premier League.
Those are my picks for this week and I promise I’ll be back with more next week!
