The luxury brand has only announced they are manufacturing engines from 2026 so far, although are expected to have a tie-up with Sauber once they enter the sport in four years. Daniel Ricciardo will depart McLaren at the end of the season, one year before his contract was due to expire, the team has confirmed. The 33-year-old joined the team at the beginning of last season on a three-year deal. He won the Italian Grand Prix, ending the team’s nine-year victory drought, but endured an otherwise difficult campaign.

Oscar Piastri has refuted Alpine’s claim that they have signed him for Formula 1 2023 and insists – in a dramatic twist to the sport’s transfer ‘silly season’ – that he will be driving elsewhere instead. Alpine had said that Piastri, who is currently their reserve driver, was being promoted to replace Fernando Alonso.
