Jonathan Milan claimed his second win at the Giro d’Italia, and his first in the 2024 edition, with a magnificent sprint victory in Andora. The Italian had to sprint from far out after his team had chased down Filippo Ganna, but he blew away his rivals, including Stage 3 winner Tim Merlier, to triumph. A rip-roaring finish to Stage 3 of the 2024 Giro d’Italia saw Tim Merlier (Soudal–Quick-Step) emerge from a chaotic bunch sprint to take the win. Despite GC men Tadej Pogacar and Geraint Thomas leading late on, they were caught by the bunch and the Belgian crossed the line just ahead of Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) with Biniam Girmay (Intermarche Wanty) in third.
