Gareth Southgate to continue as England manager

Gareth Southgate will remain as England manager until after the European Championships in 2024, the Football Association has confirmed. The 52 year old had said said he was “conflicted” about his future in the role after England’s quarter-final exit at the World Cup at the hands of France but he has been persuaded to see out his contract.

England have begun their journey home from Qatar as Gareth Southgate deliberates over his future in the wake of their World Cup quarter-final exit at the hands of France. The 52 year old has a contract through to the end of EURO 2024 but there have been calls for him to resign as his side once again came up short.
