Arsenal have completed the signing of Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus on a long-term contract from Premier League champions Manchester City. The fee for the 25-year-old is understood to be £45m and he moves to the Emirates after undergoing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz converted pole position into his maiden Formula 1 victory at an action packed British Grand Prix. The race was red flagged after a terrifying turn one incident that sent Guanyu Zhou into the barriers. When racing got back underway Sainz did enough to hold off the charging Red Bull of Sergio Perez with home favourite Lewis Hamilton third for Mercedes.

Dylan Groenewegen wins photo finish sprint on stage 3 – Tour de France

Stage 3 came down to a four-way battle between Dylan Groenewegen, Wout van Aert, Jasper Philipsen and Peter Sagan. Van Aert launched first but was too preoccupied with events on his immediate right as Sagan moved up his inside, with Groenewegen darting through on the line to win by the narrowest of margins. Philipsen took third ahead of Sagan, who wagged his finger at Van Aert after the finish.

Carlos Sainz tames elements to take pole ahead of British GP

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz tamed the elements to pip Red Bull’s Max Verstappen to pole position ahead of the British Grand Prix at a rain soaked Silverstone. The sister Ferrari of Charles Leclerc will start third ahead of Sergio Perez with Lewis Hamilton fifth at his home race.

Fabio Jakobsen sprints to stage 2 victory as Wout Van Aert takes Yellow – Tour de France

Fabio Jakobsen made it two from two for Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl, following up Yves Lampaert’s Stage 1 time trial win with a sprint triumph on Stage 2. The win seals a stunning comeback for Jakobsen, who was left in a coma after a devastating crash at the Tour of Poland in 2020. Wout van Aert took second and Mads Pedersen was third. The bonus points on the line moved Van Aert into yellow.
