Second half fightback sees Scotland break Welsh hearts

Scotland produced a remarkable second-half comeback to win 26-23 at Principality Stadium and deny Wales a first Guinness Men’s Six Nations win. Tries from Rhys Carre and Josh Adams combined with Sam Costelow’s excellent kicking had given the hosts a well-earned 12-point lead at the break. But three scores in the second 40 minutes from Finn Russell, Darcy Graham and George Turner turned the game on its head to give Scotland their second win of this year’s championship.

France overpower Scotland to win Six Nations title

France secured the Six Nations championship with a flourish – and quashed England’s hopes – by ultimately overpowering a dogged Scotland in Paris. Four French tries did not just secure the title in terrific style, it also brought their tally to 30 across the five games – a new Six Nations record, breaking a mark set by the English in 2001. Fabien Galthie’s team roared into an early 10-0 lead thanks to the first of Yoram Moefana’s two tries and a penalty from Thomas Ramos, who later surpassed Frederic Michalak as France’s all-time top points scorer.

Five-try Scotland overcame a hugely spirited Wales in a frenetic Six Nations contest at Murrayfield, condemning the visitors to a 16th defeat in a row. The Scots looked at ease for large parts of the game, only for Wales to threaten a jaw-dropping comeback late on and ensure they at least left with some reward. In the last 18 minutes, the visitors scored three unanswered tries – all converted – to turn a cakewalk into a struggle for the Scots, whose edge blunted incredibly in the second half.

Wales got their Guinness Six Nations campaign back on track with a nailbiting 20-17 win over Scotland at Principality Stadium. Darcy Graham scored for Scotland early in the first half, before Tomas Francis cross for Wales just before half-time, with the sides heading into the second half level.
