F1 announces changes to F1 Sprint format

Formula 1 is to introduce a new format for ‘sprint’ races, starting at this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The ‘sprint’ – a shorter race held on Saturday – has been made independent of the grand prix and will have its own qualifying session, known as the ‘sprint shootout’.

Nico Hulkenberg to replace Mick Schumacher at Hass for 2023

Mick Schumacher looks set to be without a seat for the 2023 Formula 1 season after Haas announced the 23 year old German would not be kept on next year. His place at the US team has been filled by the experienced Nico Hulkenberg who last had a full time race seat in 2019 with Renault.

Mercedes’ George Russell won his first ever grand prix as the Silver Arrows recorded a 1-2 at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Russell lead home teammate Lewis Hamilton for Mercedes first win of the season with Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz third ahead of Charles Leclerc.

Russell gets better of Verstappen to win Sprint in Sao Paulo

Mercedes’ George Russell rose from P3 to win the Sprint Race in Sao Paulo ahead of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and his Silver Arrows teammate Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished P4 after picking up damage when passed by Sainz, the Spaniard however is taking a grid penalty meaning an all Mercedes front row.

Kevin Magnussen claims maiden pole ahead of Sao Paulo sprint

Kevin Magnussen claimed both his and Haas’ first Formula 1 pole as wet conditions set up a thrilling upset in Qualifying at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Magnussen will start Saturday’s Sprint in Brazil at the front of the grid, with world champion Max Verstappen second for Red Bull.
