Red Bull handed $7m fine and wind tunnel penalty by FIA for cost cap breach

Red Bull have entered an Accepted Breach Agreement (ABA) with the FIA following a breach of the 2021 Financial Regulations, F1’s governing body have said. For the first time in F1 history, all 10 teams were required to submit accounts of their annual spending against the Cost Cap for 2021 by the following March the FIA announced Red Bull was found to be in breach.

Sauber to become Audi works team from 2026

Sauber have confirmed they will become Audi’s strategic partner when the German marque enters Formula 1 in 2026. The Swiss constructor has run under the Alfa Romeo banner since 2019, but that partnership will conclude at the end of the 2023 season.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen recovered from a slow pit-stop to hunt down Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton to win the US Grand Prix securing the Constructors Championship in the process. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc battled from P12 to finish third ahead of Sergio Perez.

Carlos Sainz claims pole position ahead of US Grand Prix

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz took pole position ahead of the US Grand Prix ahead of his teammate Charles Leclerc and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. Leclerc will however take a grid penalty as will Sergio Perez meaning Mercedes Lewis Hamilton will start P3 behind Sainz and Verstappen.

Verstappen clinches World Championship with victory in Japan

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen won a rain delayed and shortened Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka clinching his second World Championship title in the process. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc crossed the line second but a penalty saw him demoted to third with Sergio Perez second that switch swung the points in the 25 year olds’ favour to end the title fight.
