Sergio Garcia has rejoined the DP World Tour as he seeks a European record-equalling 11th appearance at the Ryder Cup. The 44-year-old Spaniard, who is already the event’s record points scorer, wants to match Lee Westwood and Sir Nick Faldo’s European benchmark by playing next year at Bethpage in the USA. His membership of LIV Golf means he has had to pay hefty fines and will serve a suspension in order to rejoin the DP World Tour.

Luke Donald to captain Team Europe at 2023 Ryder Cup
Luke Donald has been named Europe’s Ryder Cup captain for next year’s contest in Rome after Henrik Stenson was stripped of the role. Stenson’s move to LIV Golf forced Team Europe to look for a new captain and former world number 1 Donald has the credentials having previously served as a vice-captain.
