LIV Golf handed lifeline with potential $300m investment

LIV Golf has secured a possible $300m in financing from BC Partners Credit in order to try to move forward with the 2027 season. The league filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States in September after Saudi Arabia withdrew its multibillion-dollar funding, starting a court-supervised “restructuring process” that they hope to complete in early 2027. It is unclear how much of the $300m LIV requires to start next year’s schedule and which players will start the season.

PGA Tour ‘not contemplating’ allowing more LIV returns

There are no plans to create an instant pathway back to the PGA Tour for LIV Golf’s biggest stars. Major winners Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Smith are contemplating their futures after LIV filed for bankruptcy protection last week as the breakaway league tries to create a new circuit for next year. Rahm said he was uncertain about his future plans.

Team Europe withstood an incredible final-day fightback from the United States to win the Ryder Cup with a dramatic 15-13 victory at Bethpage Black. Luke Donald’s side won each of the first four sessions to take a commanding 11.5-4.5 advantage heading into the final day, the largest in European history, leaving them 2.5 points to retain the trophy and three points for outright victory.
