LIV Golf has secured a possible $300m in financing from BC Partners Credit in order to try to move forward with the 2027 season. The league filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States in September after Saudi Arabia withdrew its multibillion-dollar funding, starting a court-supervised “restructuring process” that they hope to complete in early 2027. It is unclear how much of the $300m LIV requires to start next year’s schedule and which players will start the season.

There are no plans to create an instant pathway back to the PGA Tour for LIV Golf’s biggest stars. Major winners Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Smith are contemplating their futures after LIV filed for bankruptcy protection last week as the breakaway league tries to create a new circuit for next year. Rahm said he was uncertain about his future plans.

Ryan Fox claimed a maiden major title after a final-hole birdie snatched a dramatic one-shot victory over Cameron Young at The 154th Open. Fox charged into contention by equalling the lowest round in men’s major history during a third-round 62, then came through a roller-coaster Sunday to edge ahead of a congested leaderboard. The New Zealander began two strokes behind Sam Burns but reached the 72nd tied for the lead with Young, who overturned a seven-shot deficit on the final day to set the clubhouse target on nine under.

Sam Burns takes a two-shot lead into the final round of The 154th Open, as Ryan Fox matched major history and Bryson DeChambeau stayed in title contention. Burns – playing alongside DeChambeau – boosted his hopes of a maiden major title after mixing six birdies with a lone bogey in a third-round 65 at Royal Birkdale, lifting him to 10 under ahead of Fox and Si Woo Kim.
