Tiger Woods arrested and charged following crash in Florida

Golfer Tiger Woods has been charged with driving under the influence after a car crash in Florida, police say. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said the 15-time major champion had also been charged with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. Woods, 50, passed a breathalyser test after the crash on Jupiter Island on Friday, but refused a urine test having had to crawl out of the passenger side of his vehicle after colliding with a pressure cleaner truck.

Tiger Woods has had disc replacement surgery in the latest setback to stall his return to the PGA Tour. The 15-time major champion has been sidelined since missing the cut at The Open in July 2024 and took to social media to announce the news. “I opted to have my disc replaced yesterday, and I already know I made a good decision for my health and my back.”

The PGA of America is close to agreeing a landmark scenario in which the US Ryder Cup team will be paid about $400,000 each to take on Europe in September 2025. Scheffler one clear of Morikawa after third round – The Masters

American world number one Scottie Scheffler hung on to the Masters lead on an eventful third day where Tiger Woods shot his worst score at a major. Scheffler, who is the hottest favourite at Augusta since Woods in his 2000s pomp, shot a one-under 71 to move seven under and one clear of Collin Morikawa. Morikawa carded a 69 for six under, with Max Homa (73) next on five under.
