Jim Furyk to captain Team USA for 2027 Ryder Cup

Jim Furyk has been confirmed as Team USA captain for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in Ireland. The 55-year-old becomes one of only four US captains to have led the team on multiple occasions since 1979, when continental Europe was established as a team. Tiger Woods had been the favourite to take over from Keegan Bradley as the US Team’s captain for the 2027 event, but chose to rule himself out of consideration following his decision to take a break from golf after a car crash in March.

Phil Mickelson to miss Masters due to ‘personal health matter’ with family

Phil Mickelson has announced he will not be playing in The Masters next week due to an ongoing “family health matter”. Mickelson, who has won The Masters in 2004, 2006 and 2010 and has made 28 cuts around Augusta National, announced the news via social media on Thursday. The 55-year-old six-time major champion finished tied for second when Jon Rahm won The Masters in 2023.
