Rory McIlroy has warned the USGA to keep Shinnecock Hills’ green speeds in check if they’re to avoid the carnage that’s marred the last two US Opens there. Rory McIlroy defeats JJ Spaun in playoff to win The Players Championship

Rory McIlroy claimed his second Players Championship title with a comfortable victory over JJ Spaun in a three-hole play-off at Sawgrass. It is the Northern Irishman’s second PGA Tour win of the season – and 28th of his career – and comes in the most prestigious event outside of the annual four majors. “I am unbelievably proud and happy to win my second Players,” said the world number two. “It’s the third time I’ve won on St Patrick’s Day. It’s been a good-luck charm for me.”

Tigers Woods to make season debut at The Genesis Invitational

Tiger Woods will play his first PGA Tour event of 2024 at the Genesis Invitational in February. The 15-time major champion has had a limited schedule since suffering a leg injury in a car crash in 2021. Woods last played in December when he said he expected to play one event per month in 2024.
