Defending Tour de France champion Tadej Pogacar took victory on stage three of the Tour de France with a late acceleration to the line following a 195.9km route from Granollers to Les Angles. The Slovenian also acquired the overall lead and yellow jersey after the stage winner’s bonus points took him level on time with Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard of Visma-Lease a Bike, who had been in yellow since Saturday’s opening stage.

Pogačar gifts teammate Isaac del Toro stage 2 victory – Tour de France

Debutant Isaac del Toro claimed victory on stage two of the Tour de France as Jonas Vingegaard retained the overall leader’s yellow jersey. Mexico’s Del Toro, 22, crossed the line just ahead of his UAE Team Emirates-XRG colleague Tadej Pogacar, after accelerating on the short, steep climb to the finish at Montjuic, Spain. Remco Evenepoel finished third, with Vingegaard fourth in the same time as the leading duo at the end of a hilly 168.5km route from Tarragona to Barcelona.

Jonas Vingegaard in yellow as Visma win stage 1 team time trial in Barcelona – Tour de France

Jonas Vingegaard will wear the first yellow jersey of the 2026 Tour de France after a superlative team time trial performance by his Visma-Lease a Bike squad in Barcelona. Filippo Ganna led Netcompany-Ineos to the line as the British team finished second on the day ahead of Tadej Pogačar’s UAE Team Emirates-XRG. Vingegaard goes into the maillot jaune after setting a time of 21:47, leading Ganna by eight seconds, with Pogačar a further four seconds down.

Vingegaard powers to fifth victory on Piancavallo – Giro d’Italia

Overall leader Jonas Vingegaard launched an attack during the tough final climb to clinch victory in Saturday’s stage 20 of the Giro d’Italia. It ensures the 29-year-old from Denmark will win the race as long as he safely finishes Sunday’s final stage in Rome and become just the eighth man to complete the triple crown of road cycling’s three-week showpieces. The two-time Tour de France winner, who also won last year’s Vuelta a Espana, is making his first appearance in the Giro and has won five stages of the race.
