Alexander Albon has committed this future to Williams for the 2023 season and beyond after it was announced the 26 year old Thai driver had signed a multi-year deal with the Gove outfit. He had been linked with a move to Aston Martin but that was ruled out on Monday with Fernando Alonso filling the vacant seat.

Oscar Piastri has refuted Alpine’s claim that they have signed him for Formula 1 2023 and insists – in a dramatic twist to the sport’s transfer ‘silly season’ – that he will be driving elsewhere instead. Alpine had said that Piastri, who is currently their reserve driver, was being promoted to replace Fernando Alonso.
