Lewis Hamilton topped qualifying for the Turkish GP but it is team-mate Valtteri Bottas who will start on pole due to the championship leader’s grid penalty, with Max Verstappen moved up to the front row. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc will start third after a superb session.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz will start from the back of the grid in this weekend’s Turkish Grand Prix as a result of penalties for exceeding his engine allocation. Team mate Charles Leclerc started at the back for the previous race in Russia for the same reason.
