Aleksandar Mitrovic is facing a lengthy ban after the Football Association announced the standard punishment for his dismissal against Manchester United would be “clearly insufficient”. The Football Association has announced that it is appealing against the decision to let Jurgen Klopp escape a touchline ban for his behaviour against Manchester City. Klopp was sent off by referee Anthony Taylor after screaming in the face of a linesman who was running past him. Atletico Madrid and England defender Kieran Trippier has been banned for 10 weeks and fined £70,000 for breaching betting rules, the Football Association has announced. The 30-year-old’s worldwide ban from all football and football-related activity will run until February 28.
