A rip-roaring finish to Stage 3 of the 2024 Giro d’Italia saw Tim Merlier (Soudal–Quick-Step) emerge from a chaotic bunch sprint to take the win. Despite GC men Tadej Pogacar and Geraint Thomas leading late on, they were caught by the bunch and the Belgian crossed the line just ahead of Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) with Biniam Girmay (Intermarche Wanty) in third.

Pogačar recovers from crash to claim victory on stage 2 – Giro d’Italia

Tadej Pogacar recovered from a tyre puncture and crash to claim a dramatic victory on Stage 2 of the Giro d’Italia on Sunday afternoon. Pogacar was the favourite heading into the race but was pipped on Saturday with Jhonatan Narvaez winning the opening stage. However, the UAE Team Emirates rider stormed back in stunning style to win Stage 2 and claim the pink jersey.

Ecuador’s Jhonatan Narvaez outsprinted Giro d’Italia favourite Tadej Pogacar to win the opening stage of the first Grand Tour of the year. Wout Poels wins stage 20 as Kuss poised to win historic Vuelta a Espana

American rider Sepp Kuss is set to win this year’s Vuelta a Espana after Dutchman Wout Poels outsprinted Remco Evenepoel to win the penultimate stage. Poels and Evenepoel were part of an early breakaway group, which was reduced to five for a flat finish. And Poels, 35, denied 2022 champion Evenepoel a fourth stage win this year.
