Cadillac to join Formula 1 grid in 2026

US car giant General Motors has had its Formula 1 entry for the 2026 season formally approved. It will name the new team after its luxury Cadillac brand. The decision to approve GM’s bid comes just over two months after the company reached an agreement in principle with F1 to enter the sport next year. F1 had previously rejected a bid from the US team Andretti, which was linked to Cadillac.

Charles Leclerc extends contract at Ferrari beyond 2024 season

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc says he is “pleased” to have extended his contract with the team for “several more seasons to come”. The 26-year-old made his Formula 1 debut with Sauber before signing a five-year contract after an impressive first season with the team in 2019. Guenther Steiner leaves role as team principal of Haas as Ayao Komatsu takes over

Guenther Steiner has left Haas with immediate effect ahead of the 2024 F1 season after the team’s disappointing performances. Ayao Komatsu has been promoted from director of engineering to team principal ahead of the new season, the 47 year old will be charged with lifting the team off the bottom of the Constructors’ Championship.
